Within your Wise account you’ll have a main account as a default option, where you can add currencies for holding, spending, sending and receiving. You can open jars and groups, where you can add currencies and keep money separate from your main account. The sections below describe what you can do with your main account.

Add a new currency
You can add and remove currencies from your main account any time you want.
Start on the home screen of the website or app.
Within your main account, select Add a currency
Choose the currency you'd like to hold money in
Add some money and verify your identity first to start using your new currency
What you can do with currencies in your main account
Once you add a currency to your main account, you'll be able to:
Add money whenever you like. Just select Add money, choose the currency you’d like to add to, and choose how you'd like to pay. Make sure to pay with a bank account in the same name as on your Wise account
Receive money with your local account details if your region supports it
Convert money between currencies in your main account (and jars and groups) whenever you need, at the mid-market rate with a low conversion fee
Hold money with no limits for most regions. There are only holding limits if your address is in Japan, Malaysia, or Singapore
Send money directly from any currency in your account to your friends, family, businesses, or to pay bills and subscriptions
Spend money with your Wise card
Some customers can hold their money as Interest, Yield, or Stocks
If you’re a business, you can register to use your currencies for business reasons — learn more here.
Remove a currency
You’ll need to remove each currency one by one.
Make sure there’s no money in the currency that you want to remove. To withdraw money:
Select the currency you want to remove
Select Send or Convert
If you’re sending:
Choose the bank account you want to send your money to
Enter the total amount you hold in that currency
If you’re converting, choose which other currency you want to add the money to and then put in the total amount you hold in that currency.
Once all your currency is empty, you can close them by selecting the three dots (...) and then Remove currency
What if I have Direct Debits set up?
When you remove a currency, any Direct Debits you have set up will automatically be cancelled.
This won’t cancel the contract or subscription you have with the company you were paying, so don’t forget to cancel with them, or give them different bank details. If you don’t, you might still owe them money, and they might charge you an extra fee for not paying on time.
