Can I send from someone else's bank account?

In most cases, no. The name on the bank account you’re sending from must match the name on your Wise account.

There are two exceptions to this rule.

You can send money from joint bank accounts

You can send money from a joint bank account as long as you’re named on the account, and that name matches the name on your Wise account.

When you set up your transfer, we’ll ask you to enter the name of the other bank account holder. This helps us identify that your money is coming from a joint account.

You can send money from a business you represent

You can send money from a business bank account if you represent that business, but you must have a Wise Business account. The name on the business bank account must match the business name registered with Wise.

What if someone else has already paid for my transfer?

If someone else used their bank account to pay for a transfer on your Wise account, we won’t be able to process the money. We will have to pause your transfer.

In this case, please cancel the transfer yourself. We will then refund the money back to the sender’s bank account.
