Can I send from a joint bank account?

Yes. You can send money from a joint account as long as:

  • you’re one of the account holders

  • your name on the account matches the name on your Wise account

When you set up your transfer, we’ll ask you to enter the name of the other account holder. This helps us identify that your money is coming from a joint account.

Do I need to prove that a joint bank account is in my name?

Usually, no. We only need to verify your joint account if your bank doesn't send us the correct names with your transfer.

If this happens, we’ll email you to ask for a proof of joint account document. Your transfer will be paused until we’ve received and approved it.

How do I verify my joint account?

To verify your account, you'll need to upload a screenshot or PDF of your bank statement. It must clearly show:

  • your first and last name

  • the first and last name of the other account holder

  • your account number

  • the bank’s name
