What’s a Foreign Inward Remittance Certificate (FIRC) and how can I request one?

A Foreign Inward Remittance Certificate (FIRC) or a Foreign Inward Remittance Advice (FIRA) is a document that acts as proof of a foreign transfer to India.

These documents are usually requested by the recipient of a transfer.

How to apply for advice from Wise’s partner banks

If you're the sender of a transfer:

Wise issues a No Objection Certificate (NOC) that you can provide to your recipient. This certificate facilitates the issuance of a FIRA through our partner banks.

NOCs are only available for business INR transfers. That means the sender and/or recipient must be a business when sending to India.

Follow these steps to download a NOC from our website:

  1. From Home, select the transfer you want to download the NOC for

  2. Select the 3 dot menu icon

  3. Select No Objection Certificate — this will open your NOC as a PDF which you can share with your recipient

If you're the recipient of a transfer:

You'll need to ask the sender to follow the steps above to retrieve an NOC that you can then share with the partner bank that processed your transfer.

You can tell which partner bank we used for your transfer by looking at the NOC.
