What's a Wisetag and how do I use it?

A Wisetag is a way of receiving money from other Wise customers without needing to share your phone number or account details. You can also use it to send someone money.

Your Wisetag is indicated by an @ symbol, followed by a combination of your name and a number.

Wisetags are available to all personal account customers that have account details.

Where can I find my Wisetag?

On both web and app, you can go to the Payments tab and find it under Payment Tools.

You’ll also find it under your profile picture or initials at the top of the screen. Make sure it’s toggled on, so that others can find you.

How do I receive money with my Wisetag?

To receive money from someone without sharing your account details, you can share your Wisetag link or QR code from web or app.

Once you’ve open your @Wisetag, you can:

  • copy the link

  • share the link

  • download the QR code to your files or photos to send separately

  • screenshot the QR code to send separately

  • open the QR code and wait for the sender to scan it with their camera

How do I send money using a Wisetag?

To send money to someone else without their account details, all you need is their Wisetag.

You can:

  • use the their Wisetag link or username directly when you send

  • scan their QR code with your camera — open your own Wisetag, and Scan their QR code

People can’t find me using my Wisetag

Your Wisetag should be toggled on by default and discoverable, but you may have switched it off at some point.

You can also contact us if you need to change your Wisetag — for example, if your name has changed. We don't offer custom Wisetags, but we can randomly generate a new one for you with a shortened name, or your first or last name.
