Connect your Wise account with Twinfield

You can connect your Wise Business account to Twinfield to automatically sync your currency transactions. This saves you time on manual data entry and helps keep your multi-currency bookkeeping up to date.

  • You’ll need to create a separate bank account and journal in Twinfield and select it from the connection set up.

  • You must have your Wise currencies opened and connected to Twinfield for your statements to sync automatically.

How often does my data sync?

By default, all your Wise transaction data syncs with Twinfield every 4 hours. You can also choose to manually sync your Wise data for a specific date range at any time.

The connection is securely facilitated by a service called Chift, which acts as an intermediary to ensure reliable, automated data transfer.

Which countries is the Twinfield integration available in?

The integration is currently available for businesses registered in the Netherlands.


How to connect to Twinfield

You can invite your bookkeeper or accountant to your business account as a team member. You control exactly what they can see and do — their access is limited to the permissions you choose.

To connect to accounting software, you need to grant them the Manage software integrations and tools permission.

Follow these steps on the Wise website to set up your connection:

  1. Log in to your Wise Business account on the web.

  2. Select your business name in the top corner.

  3. Go to Integrations and Tools.

  4. Choose Apps and Software and select View All.

  5. Select Twinfield and click Connect.

  6. Choose to either invite your accountant or continue to Twinfield.

  7. Authorize the connection.

  8. Log in to Twinfield.

  9. Grant permissions. You must grant all requested permissions for the connection to work properly.

  10. Continue to Chift page and select company or division.

  11. Choose which currencies to connect. You’ll be shown a list of accounts from your Twinfield ready to connect in a drop down menu. If you need another account, you’ll need to create it and a journal in Twinfield.

  12. Select your suspense/clearing account, usually it's 2999. Make sure that this account is different from the one used to map your currency within the previous step.

  13. Confirm your setup.

What happens after I've connected?

Once connected, transactions from your selected currencies will automatically sync with Twinfield and appear under the associated journals as entries.

What if I open a new currency account later?

If you activate a new currency (like CAD) in your Wise account and would like to sync transactions of it to Twinfield you need go to connection settings, select the Wise currency and map to a new bank account.


How to disconnect from Twinfield

You can only disconnect via the Wise website.

  1. Log in to your Wise Business account.

  2. Select your business name in the top corner.

  3. Go to Integrations and Tools under Settings.

  4. Select Apps and Software.

  5. Click Manage next to Twinfield.

  6. Click Disconnect.

Note: You can also disconnect directly from the connection settings page.
