Connecting your Wise Business account with AFAS Online allows your currency transactions to automatically sync with your accounting software. This saves you time on manual data entry and helps keep your multi-currency bookkeeping up to date.
The connection is securely facilitated by Chift, which acts as an intermediary to ensure reliable, automated data transfer.
Before connecting with AFAS Online
To connect successfully, complete a specific setup in your AFAS environment.
Download and install Citrix Workspace to perform the setup. The necessary configuration options aren't available in the browser version of AFAS. Download Citrix Workspace here
Download the GetConnectors ZIP file required for the integration. Download the file here.
Have a more detailed guide below:
Connect your Wise account with AFAS Online
1. Prepare your account or invite your accountant
To connect to accounting software, you need specific permissions. If you're the business owner, you can do this yourself.
You can also invite your bookkeeper or accountant to your Business account as a team member. You control exactly what they can see and do — their access is limited to the permissions you choose. To connect to accounting software, you need to grant them the Manage software integrations and tools permission.
2. Configure the App Connector in AFAS
Before initiating the connection on Wise, create an App Connector in AFAS using Citrix Workspace.
Log in to AFAS Online via Citrix.
Go to General and open App connector.
Create a new App connector.
Select Actions to import the GetConnectors ZIP file you downloaded earlier.
Using search in the App connector settings, find and add these UpdateConnectors:
Inkooprelatie organisatie - KnPurchaseRelationOrg
Inkooprelatie persoon - KnPurchaseRelationPer
Verkoopsrelatie organisatie - KnSalesRelationOrg
Verkoopsrelatie persoon - KnSalesRelationPer
Financiële mutaties - FiEntries
Code verbijzondering - KnDimCode
Once the setup is complete, AFAS will display an API Token. Copy and save this token in a safe place immediately — as you'll need it to finish the connection on Wise.
3. Initiate the connection on Wise
Once you've saved your API Token from AFAS:
Log in to your Wise Business account.
Go to Integrations and Tools from your business name in the top corner.
Choose Apps and Software.
Go on AFAS and select Connect.
4. Enter your AFAS details
You'll be prompted to enter your AFAS credentials to finalise the sync:
Company ID — this is your Environment ID.
This usually consists of numbers only (e.g., 36480). Do not use the code starting with 'O' (e.g., O36480AA). You can find this in your AFAS URL or the top-right corner of your AFAS screen.
API Token — paste the token you generated and saved during Step 2.
Select Connect to finish.
Once done, your connection with AFAS will be configured.
