How does a bill forwarding email work?

A bill forwarding email is a Wise email unique to your profile. It allows you to email bills and invoices to Wise, and then review the draft payment before sending. Your bill forward email will look like this: yourwisetag-123@inbox.wise.com.

How does it work?

  1. Send a bill as an attached file to your bill forwarding email. You can also share this email with others, if you expect to receive bills from them.

  2. When you receive a bill to your bill forwarding email address, we use AI to extract any relevant information (like your recipient’s currency, bank details and address, payment amount and reference).

  3. We then create a draft bill payment in your Wise account. You can check and edit the details, as well as see the attached file used to create the draft bill payment, before pressing send.

How do I turn on my bill forwarding email?

Manage your bill forwarding email here, or:

  1. Under Settings, click on Security and privacy

  2. Click on Bill forwarding email

What happens if I don’t review a payment?

If you don’t send or delete the draft bill payment, after 90 days, the draft bill payment will be deleted.

What types of files are supported?

This feature is designed for bills and invoices. The file should be PDF, JPEG or PNG, less than 10MB and 10 pages, and page size of A4 or smaller. Only one file per email is supported at the moment.

Is there anything I shouldn’t email?

For security reasons, don’t email files containing credit card details, healthcare details or other sensitive information like protected characteristics, as this tool isn’t designed for this.

Can you forward an email sent to my bill forwarding email?

Unfortunately not, please reach out to the sender directly.

How do you use this data?

We use the data from your emailed file to help you create a recipient and payment by pre-filling data for you. We'll also use it to verify the accuracy of the auto-filled details to ensure everything is correct.

By sending invoices containing personal data of third parties you confirm that you have their consent for processing for the purpose of completing the payment. We'll never use it for any other purposes or share it with third parties.
