How do I send money with Wise?

To send money, you first need to sign up and get verified. Once you're set up, sending money is simple and transparent.

How to send money

If this is your first time sending, see our first-time guide below. Otherwise, follow these steps:

1. From the Home screen, select Send.

2. Choose your recipient. You can search for an existing recipient or select Add a recipient (on the website) or the + icon (in the app).

3. Enter the amount and choose the currency. You can select the amount you want to send, or the exact amount you want your recipient to get.

4. Choose how you’d like to pay. We'll show you the fees for each option and how long the money should take to arrive.

5. Review your transfer. Make sure all details are correct to avoid delays, then select Continue and Send.

That’s it! We’ll email you once we’ve received your money and again when it’s on its way. You can track your payment under Transactions on your home screen.

Adding a new recipient

When adding someone new, you can search for them by their @Wisetag, email, or phone number. If you have their bank details, you can enter those manually.

Save time with AI You can also upload an invoice or screenshot (PDF, PNG, or JPEG up to 5 MB). Our AI will pull the recipient details and pre-fill the form for you. Always check that the info is correct before continuing. Learn more about AI uploads here.

Choosing your amount

You have two options when entering how much to send:

• You send: We'll add the fees on top of this amount.

• Recipient gets: We'll show you exactly how much you need to send to cover the fees.

Good to know: You can schedule future transfers by selecting the calendar icon next to Continue. Learn more about scheduled transfers

Paying for your transfer

The confirmation screen lets you check all details before you commit. There are multiple ways to pay, and we’ll show you the fees and delivery estimates for each.

• Bank transfers: It’s often cheapest to pay from your bank account. This means you’ll need to go to your online banking or your branch and send the money to Wise from there.

• Other options: Depending on your region, you may also be able to pay via debit/credit card or other local methods.

What happens next?

We’ll email you (and notify you in the app) once we’ve received your money and again when it’s on its way to your recipient. You can track your payment by selecting it under Transactions on the home screen

If it's your first time, the flow is slightly different to help you get started:

1. Select Send from your home screen.

2. Select the recipient's country and whether they are already on Wise.

3. Follow the steps above to enter your amount, add recipient details, and pay.
