Sending to CRC

Who can I send CRC to?

You can send CRC to any bank account in Costa Rica.

What information do I need about my recipient?

You’ll need their full name, address, ID number and 22-digit IBAN, starting with CR, and denominated in CRC, not in USD.

The ID number should be either national tax ID (Cedula) or foreign ID (Cedula Dimex).

If you’re sending to a business, you’ll need their company name and 10-digit company registration number (CJU Cedula). This should start with a 3.

How much can I send?

You can send up to 170 million CRC per transfer.

How long does it usually take for the money to arrive?

Once Wise receives and converts your money, it usually arrives in your recipient’s bank account on the same working day. Conversion can take up to 2 working days.

We’ll always give you an estimate for how long your transfer will take when you set it up.
