What is the Wise e-hongbao campaign about?

Send an e-hongbao of £15 or more, for a chance to win surprise rewards of up to £88.88. Maximum 3 rewards per user, while supplies last. Rewards are issued as variable fee discounts for future Wise transfers with amounts ranging from £0.08 to £88.88.
£15 would be approximately equivalent to 21 USD | 31 AUD | 36 NZD | 26 SGD | 83 MYR (as of 19 Jan 2026). £15 or equivalent eligibility is based on the live exchange rate at the time of the transfer.

How do I participate in this campaign?
This is a targeted campaign presented to selected users only. Participation in this campaign is limited to:
New Wise customers who successfully register for a Wise account during the Promotion Period via the Promotion Website or via campaign-related digital advertisements presented to them.
Existing Wise users who have either received emails or push notifications related to this campaign, or are able to see campaign-related buttons and/or promotional banners in their Wise app.

I’m an existing Wise user but I’m unable to see the option to send an e-hongbao in my Wise app
The Wise e-hongbao campaign is presented to selected users only. The eligibility criteria for this campaign is outlined in the campaign terms and conditions. Users who have fulfilled the aforementioned eligibility criteria will be able to see the option to send an e-hongbao in their Wise app.
I signed up for Wise through a campaign advertisement or through the campaign website, but I’m still unable to see the option to send an e-hongbao
New Wise customers who successfully register for a Wise account during the Promotion Period via the Promotion Website or via campaign-related digital advertisements presented to them will be able to see the option to send e-hongbaos in their Wise app. You should be able to see the following:
A shortcut labelled “Hongbao” at the top of the Home screen in the app
A banner labelled “Send a Wise e-Hongbao” under the Explore section of the Home screen. If you’re seeing a different banner under the Explore section, please dismiss that banner and restart the app until you see the e-hongbao banner
For campaign-related mobile digital ads, you must tap/click on the advertisement before proceeding to download the Wise app in order to participate in this campaign.
I received an e-hongbao from a friend. How do I send an e-hongbao back to them, or to anyone else?
The Wise e-hongbao campaign is a targeted campaign presented to selected users only. The eligibility criteria for this campaign is outlined in the campaign terms and conditions. Receiving an e-hongbao from someone else would not automatically make you eligible to participate in this campaign.
I sent an e-hongbao. How do I check what reward I received?
If you’ve made an eligible transfer, you will receive a push notification as well as an email informing you of the reward amount received.
In order for your transfer to be eligible to win a reward, you send an e-hongbao of £15 or more. £15 would be approximately equivalent to 21 USD | 31 AUD | 36 NZD | 26 SGD | 83 MYR. £15 or equivalent eligibility is based on the live exchange rate at the time of the transfer.
The rewards will be in the form of fee credits of variable amounts, which can be used to offset fees on future transfers. Fee credit amounts will range from £0.08 to £88.88. A maximum of 3 rewards will be awarded to any given user through the duration of the campaign, while supplies last.
Once supplies are exhausted, no further rewards will be given out including for eligible transfers.
For residents of the United States, no purchase or payment of any kind is necessary to enter or win. A purchase or payment will not improve your chances of winning a reward. Void where prohibited. Alternate Method of Entry ("AMOE"): To enter without sending a transfer, please hand-print your name, address, phone number, email address associated with your Wise account and age on a standard postcard or letter and mail it in a hand-addressed, stamped envelope to:

Each mail-in entry will count as one (1) entry into the Promotion and must be postmarked within the Promotion Period and received no later than ten (10) business days after the Promotion Period ends.
By submitting an entry via the AMOE, you confirm that you have read, understand, and agree to abide by these Terms. Your entry must adhere to the eligibility criteria listed above in the AMOE section or your entry will be void and ineligible for this Promotion. If your entry adheres to the eligibility criteria, it will constitute an Eligible Entry and will be subject to the Winner Selection process noted below. No responsibility is assumed for lost, late, incomplete, stolen, misdirected, or illegible entries submitted via AMOE. Odds of winning the Reward will depend solely on the number of Eligible Entries received.
How do I use my reward?
Rewards will be in the form of fee credits of variable amounts, which can be used to offset fees on future transfers.
Rewards will be automatically applied to offset fees on any subsequent transfers you make, at prevailing exchange rates.
For example, let’s say you are a US-based customer and you receive a reward (fee credit) of £0.88.
And let’s say the next time you make a transfer, your total transfer fee is US$1.50. At this point, your £0.88 fee credit will be converted to USD at prevailing exchange rates. For example, that might amount to US$1.18.
This US$1.18 will be offset against your transfer fee i.e. US$1.50 - US$1.18 = US$0.32. So the total payable fee for that transfer will be US$0.32. If you have any remaining fee credit, it will automatically be applied to offset fees on subsequent transfers.
Please note there is currently no way to track your remaining fee credits using the Wise app.
I sent an e-hongbao but didn’t receive any reward
This may have happened due to the following reasons:
You did not use the e-hongbao feature in the Wise app. Please note that transfers initiated using the Send feature in the Wise app will not be considered as e-hongbao transfers. To access the e-hongbao feature, you need to tap on the shortcut labelled Hongbao at the top of the Home screen or tap on the banner labelled Send a Wise e-Hongbao under the Explore section of the Home screen.
You did not send a minimum of £15 or an equivalent amount in your local currency, based on live exchange rates.
You have already received 3 rewards from previous e-hongbao transfers. Please note you can only receive a maximum of 3 rewards through the duration of this campaign.
Reward stocks or supplies have been exhausted.
I sent an e-hongbao to an Alipay user in Mainland China, but he/she didn’t receive any additional rewards from Alipay
Recipient rewards from Alipay are limited in quantity, and are on a first-come-first-served basis, while supplies last. Please refer to Alipay’s Terms and Conditions (tap on the link using a mobile device) to assess if your recipient was eligible to receive additional rewards.
