What are recurring Wise card payments?

When you use your Wise card to pay for things with a recurring payment, like a monthly subscription or gym membership, they automatically become recurring card payments.

Where can I see my recurring card payments?

You can keep track of them by going on the Payments tab, then Recurring card payments on your Wise app or website.

You'll be able to see recurring transactions made on and after 1 January 2025.

Adding to the recurring card payments list

If you've used your Wise card for recurring payments but don't find those transactions in the recurring card payments list, add them manually in one of two ways.

From Payments

  1. Go on Payments

  2. Select Recurring card payments

  3. Select Add to the list and add

From card transaction details

  1. Go on the transaction details for your transactions

  2. Select the card transaction you want to add to the list

  3. Select Recurring payment and toggle it on to add to the list

Removing from the recurring card payments list

If a card transaction has been wrongly labelled as a recurring card transaction, you can remove it from the list in Recurring card payments, or from the transaction details page.

How can I block recurring card payments?

If you'd like to block a merchant and their recurring payments — please go directly to the merchant and ask them to stop recurring charges to your Wise card.

If you can't reach the merchant, or they haven't cancelled your subscription after you've asked, you can block future recurring charges to your Wise card through your Wise account.

On web or app:

  1. From Home, go on Payments

  2. Select Recurring card payments

  3. Select the recurring payment you wish to block future charges for

  4. Follow the steps to finish blocking

  5. We'll send you an email confirmation of your blocking

Blocking is not reversible. If you’d like to re-subscribe to this blocked merchant or pay this merchant after blocking, you can create a new Wise digital card to pay them.

In some rare cases, blocked merchants may continue to charge your card by tweaking some details. If this happens and you haven’t cancelled the payment with them directly, we might not be able to recover your money. We suggest replacing your Wise card to stop the charges completely.

Why can't I block a merchant?

Sometimes, if you're subscribed to several services through a larger platform like Google Play Store, all recurring payments are charged using the same payment processor. So blocking the merchant can break ongoing and future subscriptions through the same platform.

To solve this, you can either:

  • Reach out to the merchant directly

  • Manage these subscriptions on the platform directly

We're working to improve so that managing your merchants becomes as smooth as possible.
